Dana project - Young Indian Futures
Young Indian Futuresruns a number of small-scale charity projects in India, with the aim of giving dignity and independence to young people who are excluded from that ‘booming’ economy. They come from the marginalised ‘Dalit’ communities, formerly known as ‘Untouchables’, facing a life of brutalising work and minimal education through many generations.

Why our server went down on Monday, 12th December 2012
As you are probably aware by now, we were the subject of a distributed denial of service attack which commenced on the evening of Monday, 12th December 2012, targeted against the IP of our server. This article is hopefully an explanation of exactly what happened, a timeline of events, and what we are doing to prevent it happening again. We also hope it answers some questions you might have about the process we went through to recover the sites.

Do you need to implement flexible working for your organisation?
Is mobile working becoming more important?
Why not consider moving your business processes to the cloud? We took the step of moving Virya Technologies' IT infrastructure to the cloud back in June 2011, so we know first hand what it's like before, during and after making such a move.
Are you considering moving to Google Apps cloud-based systems?
Virya Technologies are in the process of becoming an approved Google Apps partner, and during this process we have a special offer for businesses wishing to make the move to the cloud.
The Importance of a Good Document Retention Policy
Most businesses will create and rely on hundreds if not thousands of documents every year. We all recognise the importance of retaining these documents until we can be sure they are no longer required, but what of the other resources we use?
Virya Technologies moves to the cloud to facilitate flexible working arrangements
It was a question that we have been pondering for quite some time - how to set up our business processes such that our staff can work as effectively from home as they can from the office - which became even more pressing with the imminent arrival of a baby to one of our core team members, necessitating flexible working arrangements.
Virya Technologies had always operated our own in-house systems but they were creaking with the increasing demands of using multiple computers, multiple operating systems, and working hundreds of miles away from the office for periods of time.
